The BBG has published a notice under the Sunshine Act about its next open meeting on October 13 in Washington D.C., BBG Watch reported. The notice states that the BBG will receive and consider recommendations regarding the conclusion of the year-long strategic review and the BBG committee membership. BBG Watch points out that it will be the first BBG meeting after the Senate Committee on Appropriations rejected the Board’s plan to end VOA radio and TV broadcasts to China and criticized it for the lack of transparency.
The notice states that the BBG will also receive reports from: the International Broadcasting Bureau Director, the Voice of America Director, the Office of Cuba Broadcasting Director, the Technology, Services and Innovation Director, the Office of New Media, and the Presidents of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio Free Asia, and the Middle East Broadcasting Networks.

The BBG will also consider revising its BBG meeting schedule for the remaining calendar year.
