The Committee for U.S. International Broadcasting (CUSIB) Advisory Board member John Lenczowski was interviewed on the Voice of America (VOA) Chinese television program. He was discussing the reasons for the collapse of the Soviet Union and how the lessons of that period may apply to China today.
Dr. John Lenczowski founded the Institute of World Politics as a private academic institution in Washington, D.C.
From 1981 to 1983, he served in the United States Department of State as Special Advisor to the Under Secretary for Political Affairs. From 1983 to 1987, he was Director of European and Soviet Affairs at the National Security Council and served as President Ronald Reagan’s Soviet advisor. He was involved in developing many of the policies that contributed to the fall of the Soviet empire.
